One of those early spring days,
basking in the new heat,
we held each other.
Blissfully unaware,
our last moments as lovers.
You shimmered in the light,
radiant and joyful.
How I wish that could have lasted forever.
But later that night,
in darkness,
we decided to say goodbye.
You cried in bed next to me saying no one had ever loved you
like I had before.
But it wasn’t enough.
I wanted to hold you all night,
but before the sun had even risen, I had kissed you goodbye for the last time,
told you I loved you for the last time.
No time to mourn the death of a love I thought would be forever.
Because rounds were at 6:20
